Debbie and Kim are the co-creators of the Positive-LY Book Series. Loving mothers and now grandmothers, they first met while working for a Fortune 200 company. They quickly discovered a mutual passion for storytelling and making a positive impact in children’s lives.
Their shared enthusiasm for writing and inspiring children led to the creation of the Positive-LY Book Series, a collection of entertaining and charming stories designed to teach life lessons while keeping children laughing and eager for more.
Both Tennessee residents, Debbie and Kim cherish their faith, families, and the joy of devising creative, non-violent ways to keep squirrels away from their bird feeders.

Janielle spent over two decades of dedicated service as a creative leader for a large global organization. Throughout her extensive career, she has garnered recognition as a top-rated senior leader and creative strategist. In 2024 she made the decision to leave her corporate position and start her own consultancy firm, One Match LLC., where she chooses projects that bring joy and fulfilment to others. Her passion is to creatively inspire those around her and turn ideas and dreams into reality.
Janielle enjoys the outdoors, time with her family and gravitates to the simple joys
in life. Her passion has always been visual storytelling.

Andrew Buckner
Andrew Buckner is a writer, musician, and the editor-in-chief for Cookeville Lifestyle Magazine. His writing career includes sports journalism, script creation, editorial work, and songwriting. In 2017, Andrew released his debut solo mandolin EP “Coffee and a Good Book.” His most recent project, the second volume in the series, is a collection of intimate, minimalistic instrumental guitar pieces.

Bailey C. Bird, the much-loved narrator of the Positive-LY series, embodies the Appalachian heritage of both authors and serves as a tribute to Debbie Stephens’ great-grandfather, James Bailey Walker.
Born in 1863 in Monterey, Tennessee - a town fondly referred to as 'Where the Hilltop Kisses the Sky' – Uncle Bailey, as he was affectionally known, was a beloved storyteller. He became a central figure within the Monterey community through his vivid retellings of Biblical stories filled with warmth and wisdom.
His front porch became his stage, where he would gently rock in his favorite chair, and captivate his young audience with vibrant, seemingly first-person tales of old. His wisdom, humor, and love for children left a lasting impact, especially enchanting those in the rural community, have been passed down through his family, and are now reflected in the Positive-LY series.
Bailey C. Bird is depicted as a yellow cardinal, a rare and captivating bird that has fascinated people throughout history. With its distinctive appearance and melodious song, the yellow cardinal has come to symbolize joy, intelligence, enthusiasm, and creativity. Known for its stunning beauty and friendly demeanor, it serves as a perfect representation of Uncle Bailey and the inspiration behind the Positive-LY children’s book series. The authors’ hope is to pass down the same values of wisdom, humor, and connection that once enchanted those gathered on Uncle Bailey’s porch.
